HOMEPRIVACY POLICY
Privacy policy.
What this site collects, where it goes and how to say no. Plain language, no lawyer voice where we can avoid it. If anything here is unclear, call (773) 851-2239 and ask.

The short version
- We receive what you send us: a form, an email or a phone call. We use it to answer you and to do the job.
- Meta, and Google once we set it up, measure visits to this site only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. Decline, and their tracking code never loads.
- We do not sell or rent your request to other businesses, and no other contractor gets it. What Meta and Google receive if you press Accept can count as sharing or selling personal information, or as targeted advertising, under some state privacy laws. Decline, Cookie settings or Global Privacy Control opts you out.
- Ask us, and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it or delete it.
Who we are
Midwest Roofing & Renovation, a roofing contractor at 4057 N. Narragansett Ave, Chicago, IL, family-owned since 2004. IL roofing lic. #104.016186. When this page says “we” or “us”, it means this company. You can reach us at (773) 851-2239, Office (773) 657-3036 or midwestrenovationservices@gmail.com.
What we collect, and how
The message form. On the contact page: your name and phone number, and, if you fill them in, your email address, your town or ZIP, the service you need and your message.
The roof damage checker. Your answers to its three questions (what you are seeing, when it started, what kind of roof), the result it showed you, and your name, phone number and town or ZIP. It does not ask for an email address.
How a form reaches us. In one of two ways, depending on how the site is set up at the time. Either the form opens your own email app with the message written out, and nothing is sent until you press Send there. Or the site sends it to our form service, Formspree, which delivers it to our email. A form sent through Formspree also carries a reference number for the request, the checker’s answer codes and the visit details in the next paragraph.
How you got here. When you open the site, your browser notes the first page you landed on, the address of the site that sent you (if it was another site) and any campaign tags in the link: utm_ tags and the ad click IDs that Google, Meta and Microsoft add to their links (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid, msclkid). This is kept in your browser for that tab only, whatever you choose on the cookie banner. It leaves your device only inside a form sent through Formspree, never with the email-app route, and it is how we tell which ads and listings bring real requests.
Calls and emails. If you call or email us, we have your number or address and whatever you tell us, as with any business.
The chat. The “Ask the crew” window keeps your conversation in your browser so it survives moving between pages, and it is cleared when you close the tab. Unless our AI assistant is switched on, its answers come from a list of common questions built into the page, and nothing you type leaves your browser. When the AI assistant is on, your recent messages and the address of the page you are on go to a small service we run on Cloudflare, which asks Anthropic’s Claude model for the answer. Cloudflare sees your IP address, which the service uses only to limit how many messages one address can send per minute. Anthropic receives the messages, not your IP address. Our service itself does not save conversations and does not pass them on to us, so nobody here reads the chat. Cloudflare and Anthropic keep what passes through them under their own retention rules. A phone number typed into the chat is not a call-back request: use the form or call us.
Measurement and advertising, only if you accept. The first time you visit, a banner at the bottom of the screen asks whether you accept cookies. Until you answer, and if you decline, none of the tools below loads, so Meta and Google get nothing from them. If you press Accept, the site loads the Meta Pixel (from Meta Platforms) and, if we have set them up, Google Analytics 4 and the Google Ads tag (from Google). From then on they receive:
- the address of each page you open, including any tags in it, and the site that sent you
- your IP address, from which they estimate a rough location, and your device and browser type
- taps on a phone number or email address, and clicks through to the contact page with the wording of the link
- a form being started, moving through its steps, a field that stopped it (the field’s name, not what you typed) and a form being sent
- how far down a page you scrolled (halfway and 90%)
- opening the chat and sending a message, but not what you wrote
- town searches on the service area map: the town and county when we cover it, or the first 40 characters of what you typed when it is not on our list
Meta’s code can also record button clicks and page details by itself, depending on Meta’s settings. The cookies these tools set are listed on the cookies page.
Matching a request to an ad. If you accepted cookies and send a form through Formspree, the site also hands the Meta Pixel your email address (if you gave one), phone number, first and last name and town from that form. According to Meta, its code turns each value into a hash (a one-way scrambled code) before sending it. Meta compares those hashes with the ones it holds for its own users, to tell whether one of our ads led to your request. The hash hides the value on the way, but Meta can still connect it to a Facebook or Instagram account with the same email address or phone number.
Depending on Meta’s settings for our account, the Pixel may also pick up an email address or phone number typed into a form on this site by itself and hash it the same way, whichever way the form is sent. None of this happens if you decline.
Nothing on this site asks for a payment card, a Social Security number or a date of birth. Please do not send those to us by email or in the chat either.
Why we use it
- To call you back and book the free inspection
- To prepare an estimate and, if you hire us, to run the job
- To document a storm claim and talk to your adjuster if you ask us to
- To see which ads, listings and pages lead to real calls and requests, so we stop paying for the ones that do not
- If you accepted cookies, to let Meta and Google measure our ads and show them to people who have visited this site
How Meta and Google may use it
If you accept, Meta and Google can use what their tools collect here to measure our ads, to show our ads to people who have visited this site (on Facebook, Instagram, Google and the sites and apps they place ads on) and to find people similar to our visitors. Accepting also tells Google’s tag that the visit may be used for ad personalization. Both companies also use the data for their own purposes, under their own policies: the Meta privacy policy and the Google privacy policy. The ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account (Meta ad preferences) and Google My Ad Center control how they use your activity for ads. The industry opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info covers many ad companies at once.
Who receives it
We do not sell or rent your request to other businesses, and we are not a lead reseller: a request you send reaches this company and no other contractor. What Meta and Google receive if you accept cookies is described above, and you can switch it off at any time. These companies handle some of it for us or alongside us:
- Google (Gmail) runs our mailbox, where messages and requests arrive. Google Analytics and Google Ads too, if we have set them up and you accepted cookies.
- Formspree, our form service, when the site sends forms through it: everything in the form, plus the IP address and browser details that any web service sees.
- Meta Platforms, through the Meta Pixel, only if you accepted cookies.
- Cloudflare and Anthropic, for the AI chat, only while it is switched on.
- Our web host, whose servers see what every website receives: your IP address, the pages requested and your browser type.
- AI One Consulting, which designed and built this site, when it maintains the site or its form and measurement accounts for us.
- Your insurance company, only if you ask us to help with a claim.
If a court or a regulator requires it, we comply with the law.
How long we keep it
Messages and inspection requests stay in our email and job files for as long as the job, the warranty on it and our own records need. Formspree, Meta, Google, Cloudflare and Anthropic keep what they receive under their own retention rules. In your browser, the tab-only items go when you close the tab (a browser that restores tabs after a restart can bring them back), your cookie choice stays until you clear this site’s data, and cookies set after you accept last up to 90 days (Meta, Google Ads) or up to 2 years (Google Analytics) unless you decline or clear them. Details are on the cookies page.
Saying no to measurement
- Press Decline on the cookie banner. Nothing loads, and the site works exactly the same. This is also how you opt out of what some state laws call the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.
- Changed your mind? Cookie settings, at the bottom of every page, opens the banner again. Declining after an earlier Accept switches the tools off, deletes their cookies from this site’s address and stops them loading on later pages.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline, even if you pressed Accept here before you turned it on, and we do not show the banner. You can still choose Accept from Cookie settings.
- Blocking cookies or site data in your browser works too. The forms, the phone numbers, the checker and the chat keep working.
What you can ask us to do
Write to midwestrenovationservices@gmail.com or call (773) 851-2239 or Office (773) 657-3036 and we will, within a reasonable time and free of charge:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Send you a copy of it
- Correct it if it is wrong
- Delete it, including the copy at our form service, unless we are required to keep it for a warranty, an insurance file or the law
- Stop contacting you
We may ask you to confirm it is you before we send anything. What Meta and Google hold about your visits is tied to cookies and accounts we cannot see. Declining and clearing your cookies stop further collection, and each company has its own tools for what it already holds.
Phone calls
When you give us your phone number on this site, you are asking us to contact you about that request. We call about that request and the job that follows, and nothing else: no marketing calls or texts, and no other business gets your number from us to call you. Tell us to stop and we stop.
Children
This site is for homeowners and property managers. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Security
We take normal care. What the site sends to Formspree, Meta, Google or the chat service travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and inside the company your request is read by the people who answer the phone here. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
